I can honestly say I have appreciated all the work you've put in over the years. I certainly wouldn't have learned that little origami bit that floored Harrison Ford without you!!
Anyway, I'm writing because I have some bad news to impart - although I hope you won't take it badly. Over the past few years, I've ignored the requests, the urgings of my friends...even the most obvious signs...out of loyalty, I guess. I mean, I did like those skinny ties you recommended - it gave Castillo an extra smooth touch.
But the time has come for me to move on. I'm just not landing the opportunities I once did, and it's not for lack of trying on my part.
I guess the final straw is this new ad campaign. I'd like to think I'm not at the point in my career just yet when I have to start hawking products, doing infomercials, no less, to stay in the game. I'm not going to do this skincare, acme prevention medicine thing. I'm just not.
So, with that, I bid you well. And thanks again, for everything. You have been a great agent, and compadre.
Sincerely,
Edward James Olmos
P.S. You are still invited to the 'A Million to Juan' screening at my house with Paul Rodriguez.
