I have moderate views and don’t like folks who get all hot under the collar when discussing politics. There are two sides to every coin, or most modern, western coins in any case. Why not take a second to look at things from the other fellow’s point of view? Take the war in Iraq. Now I thought it was a bad idea to get involved in a war that wasn’t strictly necessary. But I’m no Michael Moore. I’m willing to look at it from the conservative point of view and I understand how important it is to get rid of their weapons of mass destruction. If we waited for the smoking gun evidence, we might have found it in the form of a mushroom cloud! Or take World War II. I’m glad the American’s won and the Nazis didn’t take over the world, but from their point of view, it must have been a total disaster. People always say how six million Jews were killed. Well if they were fair and balanced, they’d take into account the Nazi point of view as well, and understand how tragic it must have been for them that millions more Jews survived. So next time you find yourself discussing anything, make sure you don’t just say what YOU think. Be fair. Give equal weight to the opposite side of the argument as well.

It's a joke about people who, out of a sense of fairness, take it upon themselves to fully explore each side of an argument as if it were their own; especially those individuals who lack the mental discipline to properly compartmentalize their minds as a defense against confusion.
